Niilo Ruotsala (born 2002) started his musical education in East Helsinki Music Institute when he was 7 years old. At the moment, Niilo is studying music at the Helsinki Conservatory of Music with Antti Hotti.
Niilo has been in several piano competitions in Finland, such as the Madetoja Piano Competition, the Tapiola Competition and the Steinway Piano Festival. He has also been one of the finalists in the Nordic Junior Piano Competition. In autumn 2019 Niilo was awarded in the Golden Classical Music Awards -competition and he played in New York’s Carnegie Hall.
Niilo has been in many masterclasses with for example Aquiles Delle-Vigne, Marc-André Hamelin, Konstantin Bogino and Antti Siirala. Niilo has performed as a soloist of the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and Camerata Vihti. He also arranged a Super Mario piece for the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra with composer Kirmo Lintinen. In his free time, Niilo composes and produces music.
