Youth Piano Academy Finland

The Youth Piano Academy Finland is a coaching group for top talented pianists aged between 11 and 18. The project started in 2013 and it is funded by the Finnish Cultural Foundation as well as Jane and Aatos Erkko’s Foundation. The Youth Piano Academy organizes from 5 to 6 master class weekends and 1 or 2 longer training periods in a year with various renowned visiting professors. In addition to the solo lessons the students participate in the workshops in e.g. performance skills, chamber music, lied music, sight-reading, practicing and improvising.

The Youth Piano Academy wants to contribute to the development of Finnish pianism and piano pedagogy by investing in the education of the young talents. The goal is to create an inspiring and motivating learning environment where the students learn both from each other and the teachers.

The Youth Piano Academy collaborates with several prestigious music festivals such as Mänttä Music Festival and Piano Espoo and many music institutions, for example the Turku Conservatory and the Sibelius Academy.
