Aleksi Sarkkinen

Aleksi Sarkkinen (b. 2013) began his piano studies in 2022 at the Espoo Music Institute under the guidance of Rebekka Angervo. Prior to this, he had been playing the piano actively at home for about two years with strong self-motivation.

Aleksi has progressed rapidly in his studies and has completed the basic level of the Advanced syllabus of the national curriculum of education of the arts in a short period of time. He has performed in numerous concerts and, despite his young age, has achieved success in several piano competitions.

In September 2025, he won the first prize in the national Tapiola Piano Competition (Category II, ages 12–15). In June 2025, he was awarded second prize in the international “Città di San Donà di Piave” Piano Competition in Italy (Category B, ages 11–12). In January 2025, he placed second in the national Leevi Madetoja Competition (under 13 years category), and in December 2024, he received third prize in the national Juvenalia Chamber Music Competition (piano duo category, under 13 years).

Aleksi has participated in masterclasses given by Konstantin Bogino, Massimiliano Ferrati, Mei Yi Foo, Andreas Frölich, Vanessa Latarche, Joonas Pohjonen, and Niklas Pokki.
Aleksi was selected as a student to the Youth Piano Academy Finland in spring 2026.
