Antti Pimiä (b. 2008) began playing the piano at the age of 10 and has been studying at the Tampere Conservatory since 2019. Initially, he was taught by Kristiina Kask-Valve, and since 2020, his teacher has been Annika Hautamäki-Hänninen. Currently, Antti is completing advanced studies at the conservatory. Starting in the fall of 2024, he has also been taught by Teppo Koivisto (SibA). In 2024, Antti was selected for the Youth Piano Academy.
In addition to his conservatory studies, Antti has participated in numerous masterclasses, receiving instruction from renowned pianists such as Alexander Kobrin, Vanessa Latarche, Matti Raekallio and Ingrid Fliter. In addition to the Youth Piano Academy sessions, he has attended the Nurmes summer academy, Raudaskylä Winter and Summer masterclasses, and the Pyynikin pianopäivät.
Antti has achieved success in several piano competitions. He has been awarded prizes at the Ilmari Hannikainen piano chamber music competition 2026, Leevi Madetoja Piano competition in 2025 and 2022, the Turku Pianoaura competition in 2023, the Tapiola International Piano competition in 2023, and the Pirkanmaa Piano competition in 2023.
Notable performances include the Turku Pianoaura Prize Concert at the Sibelius Museum in Turku and solo recitals at Kangasala Hall, Pyynikki Hall and Laikku Cultural Centre.
