Sauli Aaltonen (born 2009) started studying piano at the age of five under Niina Haapanen at the Suzuki School in Tampere. In 2017, he transferred to the Pirkanmaa Music Institute as a student of Riitta Majanen. Currently, Sauli is studying with Annika Hautamäki-Hänninen at the Tampere Conservatory, where he is completing advanced studies.
Sauli has been awarded in the following piano competitions: the international Tapiola Youth Piano Competition 2023 and 2021, the Pianoaura Piano Competition 2023, the Leevi Madetoja Piano Competition in 2022, and the Pirkanmaa Piano Competition 2020 and 2018.
In 2022, Sauli received a grant that is awarded to support talented art music students from the Pro Musica Foundation. He was selected as a student of the Youth Piano Academy in the spring of 2023.
