Aapo Luoma began his piano studies at the Kuula Institute in 2021 under Anton Ylikallio. He soon continued under Sasja Jantunen, and has also studied with Olexandra Shevchenko. After his first year, Aapo was admitted to the Kuula Institute’s Masterclass Program in 2022. This program is intended for highly advanced and motivated students, offering them expanded and intensive instruction.
Aapo has participated in numerous masterclasses with teachers such as Junio Kimanen, Henri Sigfridsson, Antti Hotti, Olli Mustonen, and Kirill Kozlovski. He attended the Korsholm Music Festival’s summer course from 2023 to 2026. He completed his basic music studies at the Kuula Institute in 2025 and is currently studying piano at an advanced level.
In 2025, Aapo competed in the Leevi Madetoja Piano Competition, advancing to the second round in the 13–16-year-old category. He served as a summer artist for Vaasa Baroque in both 2025 and 2026. Aapo also performs independently at various events, operating under his own business ID. He works as the regular pianist for Åbo Akademi University in Vaasa and has appeared as an accompanist at the Vaasa Choir Festival and in concerts of the Vaasa Opera Choir.
Aapo was selected as a student of the Young Piano Academy in 2025. Through the Academy, he receives instruction from top-level pianists, including international artists. During the Academy’s teaching periods, Aapo has participated in masterclasses with Alexander Kobrin and Mariam Batsashvili. The Young Piano Academy also provides excellent performance opportunities: Aapo has performed in numerous concert halls across Finland as well as at the Mänttä Music Festival.
