Julia Elomaa began her piano studies at the Turku Conservatory in 2013 with Jaana Luuppala. She received her Advanced Studies Diploma in spring 2021 and was admitted to the Youth Piano Academy Finland in summer 2021.
Julia has participated in numerous master classes, including those of Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Janne Mertanen, Henri Sigfridsson, Tony Yike Yang, Severin von Eckardstein, Mackenzie Melemed, Erik T. Tawaststjerna, Håvard Gimse and Matti Raekallio. In addition to the Youth Piano Academy periods, Julia has participated in the master classes organized by the Nurmes Summer Academy, Raudaskylän Soiva kesä and Palazzo Ricci.
Julia performed as a soloist with the Aura Sinfonia and the Camerata Vihti Orchestra in the fall of 2022. She has also appeared at various events and concerts throughout Finland. In the summer of 2024, Julia performed at the Riihimäki Summer Concerts and in the "Young Artists of the Festival" concert at the Mänttä Music Festival.
She has been awarded prizes at the Pianoaura Competition in Turku in 2016, 2019 and 2023, the Steinway Piano Competition in Helsinki in 2016, the Stockholm International Music Competition in 2017, the Tapiola International Piano Competition in 2019, the Canadian Youth Piano Festival in 2021, the Ilmari Hannikainen Chamber Music Competition in 2023, the WPTA Finland International Piano Competition in 2024 and the Debussy International Music Competition in 2024. Additionally, Julia received a special mention at the Nordic Junior Piano Competition in Sweden for her interpretation of Matthew Whittall's work ”A Noiseless Patient Spider” in 2023.
